Terry Haddad’s personal history comes from his early years working as a window dresser and display designer, primarily in retail shops and department stores.
His work involved creating the display props and sourcing other elements that clarified the function of these products and objects that visually support the merchandise. In doing so, he would create an environment which ultimately entices the consumer to make the purchase.
His art techniques and inspirations also come from working as an apprentice for other abstract artists and sculptors. He was continuously learning the concepts behind the work and over time, gained profound experience which enabled him to put these skills into his own practice.
His work is an examination of different forms of thinking that lies behind it using domestic objects as a common denominator of a personal environment, altering them is a way of questioning the attitude, fears, and unwritten rules which have formed that environment and our behaviour within it.
